Protect your battery and charge port in one compact board. It sits between your charge port and your battery and does two jobs. An "ideal diode" stops the battery from feeding power back out to the charge port. An onboard 10 A fuse protects the pack and BMS if anything downstream goes wrong.
Unlike a standard diode, which drops close to a volt and runs hot, this board uses a smart controller and a low-resistance MOSFET. The voltage drop is only tens of millivolts, so it runs cool and wastes almost nothing while charging.
Features
- Ideal diode backflow protection: current flows from the charger to the battery only. The charge port is never powered by the pack, so no live pins at the port and no sparking or shorting if something touches them.
- Very low loss: driven by an LTC4359 ideal diode controller and a 150 V, 9.3 mΩ MOSFET, it drops a fraction of what a Schottky or standard diode would and stays cool.
- 10 A onboard fuse: protects the battery and BMS from shorts and faults on the charge side.
- Surge protection: a TVS diode on the battery side clamps voltage spikes.
- Keyed XT30 connectors to prevent backwards plug-in.
- Compact: fits easily inside the enclosure, right behind the charge port.
Specifications
- Battery range: 18S to 30S (up to 126 V)
- Charge current: up to 8 A continuous
- Fuse: 10 A (Littelfuse 0453 Nano2)
- Ideal diode: LTC4359 controller + 150 V N-channel MOSFET (9.3 mΩ)
- Surge protection: SMF130A TVS (130 V standoff)
- Connectors: XT30 female (charge port side), XT30 male (battery side)
- Board size: 37.75 × 14.6 mm
Notes
- Designed for charging only; not for discharge or motor current.
- Always check charger and charge-lead polarity before first use. The keyed XT30 prevents a correctly wired lead from going in backwards, but a miswired lead or adapter can still reverse the polarity.
